- Great use of music. (Anyone know if there's a music comm for the series?)
- Man, this is almost too violent, but really tightly plotted and well written.
- I think I'd hate to be part of a fandom for this, but I like the show.
- Katey Sagal is pretty awesome. (Ally Walker too!) (I kinda like all the women in this show.)
- I can definitely see the Hamlet riff.

Jesus Christ, I hate the people in power more and more. I think it's time for another donation to the ACLU. "It basically criminalizes political advocacy.". Gee, why aren't the major news outlets covering this? (Well, except for Minnesota public radio,but I don't think they qualify as "major.")

And in more political news, you know it's bad when even your own party is dissing you. But hey, here's a one major new outlet doing a good job of digging out the truth.

In happier things: I keep forgetting how much I love Entourage until we get it in at work again and we all cluster around one computer to watch scenes and there's laughter in our office again. Ari Gold will always be my favorite 14-year-old boy sleazy agent.

In the wake of Generation Kill airing, I find this article about the military censoring journalists in Iraq pretty topical. The NYT has had some interesting articles lately. I'm impressed.

Dear Spooks, I know you find my suitcase the most fascinating thing ever, and if I didn't know that, then the fact that you have been sharpening your claws on it and sleeping on it for the past week might have clued me in. Oh, Viacom is being a little bitch. I'm glad I mostly watch user created SPN vids over there. Take that, Viacom!

I thought I mentioned watching the Fringe pilot (New series from JJ Abrams, ie: the "Lost" guy) but I don't see the post, so maybe my LJ client ate it. Anyway, it was a pretty good pilot. I liked the lead woman. (poisontaster I think you would like her too.) Hopefully she'll stay strong and smart. I'm not a fan of Joshua Jackson but he was tolerable here. It's got the conspiracy of the X-files mixed with the mystery of Lost, topped with some nifty special effects. (Also re: leaked pilots... *snickers* I almost wish they'd leaked Dollhouse instead. Two show that look like they've got massive budgets-- which one will get canceled first? And why didn't they keep New Amsterdam? That show was awesome.)

I may have bought myself an iPod for my birthday. Then had buyer's remorse immediately afterwards. Ah well, it was cheap refurbished and I can plug it into my car. Anyone got any suggestions for how I can prevent iTunes from putting its DRM all over my music? (I suppose I should go figure out just exactly what iTunes does, actually.)

Hmm, I've been pondering the definition of RPS AU fanfic recently. Isn't all RPS by its very existence AU? I mean these guys aren't in a romantic relationship with each other in real life. Is there a different meaning of AU that I'm not getting here? loose_pages_sd is setting up a delicious for specifically those stories, but to me all RPS would fall under that umbrella. But it seems that I'm the only one who thinks that. And janissa11 has a post discussing this genre, so what is the definition of RPS AU? With Sam/Dean slash, you can imagine that things take place off-screen but still in the universe, but for RPS you don't have that layer of fantasy because everything either happens or it doesn't. Am I being too literal?

Okay, I need to go feedback a couple of spn_j2_bigbang stories and art, then figure out what I'm doing with my weekend. House cleaning is definitely on the agenda though. And pricing some air-conditioning. And reading-- I'm so behind on the things I want to read. Everyone have a happy Friday. :)

Oh, me likey. I hope this one runs awhile. Reminds me a little lot of The Hustle. (even down to the music, wow.) And it's got Chris Kane. And Timothy Hutton. What do you think of sites like Vixy or keep vid? Do you think the software you recommended does a better job than those? (Or have you tried them?) I don't mind paying for something, but I'd just like to buy one thing that does all I want. *^_^*

So I almost never read my flist on filter. Like maybe once every three months. But today I pulled up my spn filter to see everyone's reactions and... there's a whole lot more posts there than when I read my regular flist. Like twice as many posts. As if my regular flist isn't showing me everything. WTF LJ? It is possible I just skimmed yesterday to avoid spoilers, but I think I would have remembered some of those posts.

And I finally finished the project o'doom at work yesterday. *crosses fingers* HBO is getting really picky about their DVD releases and this one was a bitch of a project. (Recount, for the curious.) Dramatizations of real events are a pain because the research is intense. Some things are made-up and some things are real and you have to know which are which and make sure everything is spelled exactly right. And this was long and talky so I ended up working on it for almost the entire week.
