I was thinking about this for my ycon panel, but realized I don't have enough background to answer it for myself. I'm curious what you all think.

How do you think that Joseph Campbell's mythology and "Hero with a Thousand Faces" applies to anime and manga series? Do the archetypes still exist or are they different? If they're different, how do they differ?

Can you give me some examples of the "classic" archetypes in anime or manga stories?
